Welcome to Health Exchange Facts
You’ve come to the right place for information on Health Care Reform and the New York Health Exchange.
You may have heard Health Care Reform referred to as “Obamacare,” “the Affordable Care Act,” “the Exchange,” or the “Marketplace.” However, these terms do not mean the same thing.
Typically, “Health Care Reform” refers to the law, which is called the Affordable Care Act. “The Exchange” or “Marketplace” refers to the website where you’ll be able to buy health insurance. New York’s Health Exchange is called New York State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace. On this site, when we refer to the “Exchange” or “Marketplace,” we mean The New York State of Health.
But no matter what you call it, Health Care Reform will change the way you and your loved ones choose, purchase, and control your health care options.
